As we welcome a new year, it's time to take stock of the fashion trends that didn't quite make the cut in 2021. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the fashion world still managed to surprise us with some brilliant style trends.
However, not all trends were created equal. Some of the questionable fashion trends that made their rounds in 2021 include cheap fast fashion, unflattering retro styles, and vulgar outfits.
One of the most notable fashion trends that we hope to see less of in 2022 is cheap fast fashion. While affordable clothes can look classy, some fabrics are so cheap that it's obvious they're not of quality. Instead of settling for see-through dresses and thin spandex materials, focus on buying outfits made from quality materials.
Another trend that didn't quite work for us was the resurgence of unflattering retro styles. While fashion always has a way of reinventing itself, some items from the early 2000s and 90s should have been left in the past. Chunky platform boots and tacky versions of 90s and 2000s jeans are just a few examples of fashion choices that should have stayed in their era.
Lastly, we're saying goodbye to vulgar outfits that try to convince us that beach wear or bedroom attire is suitable for outdoor wear. There's a right way to look sexy without being obscene, and we can't go into 2022 with this trend.
As we look forward to a fresh start in 2022, let's make a resolution to upgrade our style by ditching these fashion trends and focusing on quality, timeless pieces.
