On July 8, 2019, a gruesome discovery was made in Macumo Village, Embu East Sub-county, when the body of a 66-year-old woman was found dumped outside her house.
The woman's body was discovered in the morning with its neck slit and showing signs of rape before being murdered.
According to Embu East Sub-county Deputy County Commissioner George Omollo, the area assistant chief reported the matter after being informed by the woman's relatives.
Police visited the scene and investigations into the matter are underway, with the deputy county commissioner stating that the woman was last seen in her house early on Sunday evening.
The body was taken to Runyenjes Level Four Hospital mortuary, and the deputy county commissioner called upon the residents to volunteer information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.
