December 29, 2021 - Deputy President William Ruto visited his social media strategist, Dennis Itumbi, at Nairobi West Hospital, where he is being treated for injuries sustained during an assault.
Itumbi was abducted by unknown individuals while leaving a barbershop in Thindigua on December 23, 2021, before being dumped in Lucky Summer hours later. He was helped to hospital by good Samaritans.
Itumbi has accused Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi, Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho, and Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai of orchestrating his abduction due to his persistent criticism of their work on social media.
However, the Police Headquarters has stated that the matter is under investigation and has urged anyone with information to come forward.
