Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is confident that his team will bounce back from their agonizing League Cup exit against Liverpool and face Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday.

Despite conceding a two-goal lead twice in their midweek League Cup quarter-final against Liverpool, including an equalizer deep into added time, Rodgers believes his side will be ready for the challenge against City.

Leicester's defenders Caglar Soyuncu and Ricardo Pereira were forced off during the match, while star striker Jamie Vardy played the last 20 minutes with a tight hamstring, which may not bode well for their fixture against City.

However, Rodgers pointed out that his team has won two of their last four meetings against Pep Guardiola's side, and he is optimistic that they can impose their way against City.

‘You are coming to Anfield, a great place to play, and whatever happens let’s impose our way,' Rodgers said before the game against Liverpool.

‘That’s what I’ve always had from these players. They have been competitive against the best teams in the country and we saw that, we just couldn’t do enough to get over the line,' he added.

City are on an eight-match winning run in the league and have failed to win only one of their last 11 games, but Rodgers is confident that his team can come up with a plan to get a result.

‘I think you see from the game at Liverpool we can score goals, we are creative, but we have to see what we have available at the weekend and we will try to come up with a plan to get a result,' Rodgers said.
