December 24, 2021 - Embattled Standard Group Editor in Chief Ochieng Rapuro has taken leave and fled from pressure as he faces a barrage of questions on how he has been mismanaging the Mombasa Road based newsroom.

According to sources, Rapuro requested for a leave to cool off after his employer turned tables on him and commenced an internal inquiry about his rogue nature.

As part of the inquiry, the SG Human Resource department has started investigating a sexual harassment claim made by Rapuro against City Editor Roselyne Obala.

It is alleged that Rapuro made a derogatory comment about Obala's appearance in an open forum attended by all editors, saying she was 'carrying her legs to show them off in Mombasa instead of working.'

Two more female staff members, Quinter Mbori and Najma Ishmael, are also reportedly considering making formal complaints against Rapuro over sexist remarks he made recently.

Insiders claim that Rapuro had engaged the services of hackers and bloggers to establish the ownership of a blog that has been publishing stories about him.

It is also alleged that Rapuro had boasted of how he had fired over 9 journalists in the year alone and wanted the number to hit past 30 before the elections.
