Published on December 22, 2021, U.S. President Joe Biden expressed his willingness to run for reelection in 2024, provided he is in good health.

When asked by ABC's David Muir if he plans to run for reelection, Biden replied, "Yes." He emphasized that his decision would depend on his health, stating, "If I'm in the health I'm in now, if I'm in good health, then in fact, I would run again."

Biden's response came as his approval ratings have been on a downward trend since the summer, stabilizing at around 42-43 percent, according to data from FiveThirtyEight.

Despite his sagging popularity, Biden's team has confirmed that he intends to run for another four-year term in 2024. White House press secretary Jen Psaki stated in late November, "That's his intention."

At 82 years old on Election Day 2024, Biden's health will be a crucial factor in his decision to run for reelection.
