December 23, 2021, marked a day of concern for the family of Dennis Itumbi, a public communications and digital strategist, as reports emerged of his alleged abduction by unknown men.

However, in a statement to the press, Itumbi's family and lawyers have denied these claims, stating that he is not in police custody.

Speaking to the press, Itumbi's brother, David, revealed that their kin was taken from Thindigua by three unknown men who whisked him away in a white vehicle but did not take him to the Parklands Police station.

David expressed concern over Itumbi's disappearance, suspecting foul play and urging the government to release his brother if they are holding him.

Itumbi's lawyer, Moses Chelangach, also spoke out, stating that the family was informed that Itumbi had been booked at Parklands Police station but they did not find him there.

Chelangach further alleged that the government is not telling them where Itumbi is, despite having the tools to locate him, and that they believe his disappearance is being enforced by the State.

Nandi Senator, Samson Cherargei, also weighed in on the matter, stating that the State has a hand in Itumbi's disappearance and that it is unfair for them to hold him, especially with his health issues.

Cherargei further accused the government of a political vendetta against Itumbi, who has been exposing their alleged wrongdoings, and called on them to release him.
