On July 8, 2019, a piece on babe.net sparked a heated debate about the morality of keeping a side guy in a relationship.

The article suggested that happiness in a relationship can only be achieved and sustained if one has a side piece, implying that it's in every woman's best interest to keep their relationships open.

However, this notion is not new, as a certain relationship expert, Joro Olumofin, had previously advised women to get a side guy to insulate them from the hurt of being dumped by their partner.

In a 2018 Instagram post, Olumofin claimed that it was time for every lady to have a contingency boyfriend, a backup boyfriend for when their real boyfriend dumps them.

He believed that having a side guy would allow women to avoid heartache if their main partner messed up, but many argue that this is a form of cheating.

Regardless of the intent, having a side guy is wrong, as it involves hiding the truth from one's partner and potentially leading to a toxic relationship.

Instead of resorting to such measures, individuals should focus on taking commitment seriously and communicating openly with their partners.
