However, the victory was marred by a controversy surrounding Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus, who was sent off in the 70th minute after receiving a second yellow card.
Jesus, 22, had scored Brazil's second goal in the 45th minute, but his celebration was short-lived as he was given a second yellow card for a late challenge on Peruvian defender Carlos Zambrano.
According to eyewitnesses, Jesus was seen kicking a water bottle, punching the dug-out, and pushing over the VAR monitor in frustration.
After being red-carded, Jesus stormed down the tunnel, tears streaming down his face as he was consoled by an official from the Brazil national team.
Despite the controversy, Brazil went on to win the game 3-1, with Everton and Richarlison scoring the other two goals for the Selecao.
