On Sunday, a horrific incident unfolded in Nyakoe, Kisii County, where a man allegedly attacked his wife and two children with a machete.
According to Kisii County Police Commander Francis Kooli, the suspect, Daniel Asiago, turned against his family, Ednah Kerubo, and their children, after a domestic dispute.
The victims were rushed to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment, where they are currently undergoing care.
As investigations continue, Asiago is being held at Nyatieko Police Station, awaiting court proceedings.
Witnesses, including neighbour Evans Oiko, reported receiving distress calls from the home, only to find the family members severely injured.
Residents, outraged by the incident, subsequently burnt down Asiago's home in protest.
