Ugandan Police Investigate Murder of Cashier by Tanzanian Nationals

On December 18, 2021, Emmanuel Deus, a cashier at GEM James Gold Processing Company, met a tragic end in Bukuya Town Council, Kassanda District, Uganda.

Deus was reportedly beaten to death by a group of six Tanzanian nationals after a heated argument at a local drinking spot.

According to police, the victim was rushed to Bukuya Clinic and later transferred to Mityana Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival due to internal bleeding in the head.

Police spokesperson, Mr. Fred Enanga, confirmed that three Tanzanian nationals, Lubolo Erican, David Malingita, and Peter Matunganjo, have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Enanga expressed hope that the arrest of the suspects would bring relief to the victim's family and reminded the public of the risks people face during violent altercations.
