December 19, 2021, marked a significant day in Kenya's political landscape as Deputy President William Ruto reiterated his mission to unite the country. Speaking in Mombasa County during a Church service, Ruto urged Kenyans to join him in his quest to unite the nation by voting for him as Kenya's 5th President in the 2022 general election.

At the heart of Ruto's message was the need to eradicate tribal politics, which he believes have dominated the country for too long. He emphasized that his driving force is to create a nation where every citizen has equal opportunities to thrive.

Meanwhile, the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) principals, including ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka, commenced a tour of central Kenya. While meeting with the Mt Kenya Unity Forum, they stated that they have not made any decision to support anyone else for the presidential bid in the 2022 general election, other than one of their own.

However, Ruto's message to Mudavadi was clear: join the United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) and its Hustler Nation platform. Ruto warned Mudavadi and Kalonzo against making a mistake of joining ODM leader Raila Odinga for the third time, citing the collapse of the National Super Alliance (NASA) as a result of their previous alliance.
