American Entrepreneur Sylvia Bichanga Shuts Down Kisumu Hotel

Sylvia Bichanga, a 28-year-old American entrepreneur, has been making headlines in Kisumu for her unique business ventures. However, her latest move has left many in shock - she has shut down her hotel in the city due to low income.

According to reports, Bichanga's hotel, Mzungu Pretzels, was not generating enough income to sustain the business. In a bid to turn things around, she has decided to review her business model and has started hawking mandazis in the streets of Kisumu.

On Sunday, December 19, 2021, Bichanga was spotted hawking mandazis in the streets, a venture she had temporarily quit. In a video posted on her social media platforms, she was seen stirring flour as she went on to clarify her decision to shut down the hotel.

"This is my last day at Mzungu Pretzels. I'm closing Mzungu Pretzels because it was simply not generating enough income here. But I'm still cooking from my house. That's not a step down," she clarified.

When asked about her decision to hawk mandazis, Bichanga stated that she was excited about the new venture and was looking forward to making ends meet by supplementing her husband's earnings. She started the pretzels and mandazi business after tying the knot with her Kenyan husband, Kelvin Bichanga.

Reports allege that Kelvin landed a job as a taxi driver in the city, which has led to the couple's decision to review their business model.

Despite the challenges, Bichanga remains optimistic about her future and has reassured her followers that she is not a spy agent attached to the US-based Federation Bureau of Investigations (FBI). In a video posted on her social media platforms, she was seen chuckling sarcastically as she went on to clarify her claims.

"You guys got me laughing in the comments though. You were like, the FBI officer has done her work and is now going back home," she said.

When asked about her aspirations, Bichanga stated that she had always wanted to be something exciting like a Central Investigation Agency (CIA) or FBI but unfortunately, she's not that exciting.

"I wish I was a spy, but I'm not that exciting. And if I indeed was a spy, then I'm not doing a good job always being in the news. Intelligence officers always avoid being in the spotlight," she clarified.
