On a tragic Saturday morning, December 18, 2021, three students from Chogoria Girls High School lost their lives in a road accident in Kambiti, Murang'a county.
According to Murang'a South Sub-county Police Commander Alexander Shikondi, the matatu, belonging to Mark One Sacco, was involved in a head-on collision with a lorry after attempting to overtake a truck.
The driver of the matatu died instantly, while other students who sustained serious injuries were rushed to various hospitals in Murang'a and Thika.
The four bodies were moved to General Kago mortuary awaiting postmortem.
