As COVID-19 cases continue to rise in various clubs, coaches in the English Premier League (EPL) have urged players to get vaccinated. The EPL and the UK government have also endorsed the move.
According to EPL coaches, including Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp, getting vaccinated is a sign of high responsibility. Klopp revealed that 99% of his team have received two doses of the vaccine.
Coaches Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City also share the same view. The situation is similar in other European leagues.
Italy: Serie A reports that 98% of its players have received two doses of the vaccine. Juventus and Italy's Giorgio Chiellini, a defender, used social media to encourage his teammates to get vaccinated in early December.
France: 95% of players have received two doses of the vaccine, and there have been few new cases reported in Ligue 1.
Germany: 94% of players have received two doses of the vaccine. Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich, a defender, was infected with the virus in November and later regretted his decision not to get vaccinated earlier.
Spain: More than 90% of players have received two doses of the vaccine, and clubs are free to fill stadiums with fans during matches.
