Three Students of Chogoria Girls' High School, Driver Killed in Road Accident

On December 18, 2021, a devastating road accident occurred at 6:40am on the Nyeri-Nairobi highway in Murang'a, claiming the lives of three students from Chogoria Girls' High School and a driver.

The students were traveling in a matatu heading to Nairobi when it collided head-on with a lorry transporting potatoes, which was going in the opposite direction.

According to Murang'a South Sub-County Police Commander Alexander Shikondi, the driver of the matatu was overtaking another vehicle at the time of the accident.

Other students in the matatu were injured and taken to various health facilities in Murang'a and neighboring Kiambu County.

The wreckage of the matatu and the lorry were towed to Makuyu Police Station, while the bodies of the three students and the driver were taken to General Kago Mortuary in Thika.
