On July 7, 2019, Thunder pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat Equity Bank in a Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) men's premier league match at Nyayo Gymnasium.

Equity's new signing Feisal Aden emerged as the man of the match, but his 30 points were not enough to help his side secure a double against Thunder.

Thunder's Kevin Chogo and Faheem Juma top-scored with 15 points each, while Griffin Ligare added 13 points to the team's tally.

Despite staging a strong show, Aden's numerous fouls forced him off the court in the final minutes of the game, which saw Thunder squeeze a 72-70 win.

Thunder's solid performance in the final quarter, coupled with Equity's blunders, ultimately led to their victory.
