Ken Okoth, the Member of Parliament for Kibra, has made a triumphant return to Kenya after a five-month battle with colorectal cancer. The 41-year-old legislator had been receiving treatment in France since February 2019.

Okoth's first public appearance since his treatment was at the Kibra Music Festival on July 7, 2019, where he was spotted dancing and interacting with the crowd. His presence at the festival was confirmed by Nairobi Senator Johnstone Sakaja, who expressed his welcome back to the constituency.

Joined my brother Ken Okoth and the people of Kibra for an exciting Music Festival earlier today. Welcome back home bro and thanks for the amazing job you and your team have been doing. Your strength and your determination inspires us all,” Sakaja said via Twitter.

The festival, which usually attracts Early Childhood Development (E.C.D) participants, was a great opportunity for Okoth to reconnect with his constituents and showcase his resilience in the face of adversity.

Kenyans online were quick to applaud the MP for his remarkable spirit as they welcomed him back to the country. His story serves as a testament to the bravery and determination of individuals who face life-threatening illnesses with courage and hope.
