DCI Kinoti's Shocking Revelation to MPs ¶
On Thursday, December 2, 2021, DCI George Kinoti made a stunning revelation to MPs during a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations.
According to Kinoti, the body of Agnes Wanjiru, a woman who was allegedly murdered by British soldiers in Nanyuki in 2012, was found in a well.
Kinoti's announcement came as a shock to the MPs, who had been waiting for updates on the investigation into Wanjiru's murder.
However, the MPs were quick to express their outrage and disappointment at the slow pace of the investigation, with some accusing the police of covering up the truth.
Tayari majina ya mashahidi yamebainika," Kinoti told the MPs.
Wanjiru's body was found two months after she went missing, and the investigation into her murder has been ongoing for nearly a decade.
"Tangu 2012 hadi wakati huu, bila shaka huenda mashahidi wengi tayari wamefariki au itakuwa vugumu kuwapata. Swali ni je, mbona uchunguzi wenu umechukua muda mrefu kiasi hiki? Miaka tisa ni muda mrefu zaidi," said MP Zachary Kwenya.
MP Charles Kilonzo also expressed his disappointment at the slow pace of the investigation, accusing the police of covering up the truth.
