Esther Wanjiru, a 27-year-old woman, has taken Narok Senator Ledama Olekina to court over child support, alleging he has neglected their one-year-old son.
According to court papers, Wanjiru claims she met Olekina in September 2019 and they were in an intimate relationship for a few months before she became pregnant in 2020.
She alleges that after informing Olekina about her pregnancy, he cut off communication with her, leaving her to bear all the costs and bills during the pregnancy, scans, and birthing.
Wanjiru claims that even after the child was born on October 20, 2020, Olekina remained silent, and she was left to settle all the expenses on her own.
She is now seeking Sh200,000 monthly upkeep for their son, which she plans to use for various expenses, including house help, food, medical bills, shelter, clothing, entertainment, utility bills, and service charges.
Wanjiru's lawyer, Kephar Ojijoh, presented medical bills and other necessary documents to court in support of their demands.
