The IDPA Chairman's Cup 2021, held at the Kirigiti Shooting Range, was a thrilling event that saw Ibrahim Ndung'u emerge as the overall winner. The tournament, which was marked by a heavy downpour and wet slippery ground, was attended by approximately 100 participants drawn from civilians and licensed firearm holders.
Despite the challenging conditions, Ndung'u's speed and accuracy earned him the top spot, followed closely by Captain Geoffrey Pesa and Eng. Robert Nyamongo, who finished second and third respectively.
Director of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti, who was represented by deputy director Joseph Ashimala, hailed shooting as a good sport that helps release stress. Ashimala also emphasized the importance of using firearms responsibly and refraining from carrying them to drinking places.
The event was sponsored by Africa Air services, Crown Paints Ltd, Skyward express, Farm fresh, Radio Africa Group, Triple Tap Ltd, Capital investment, Spice Ammo, Emotion Regional logistics, Bamburi Rifle Club, Issa Issa, and Triple A growers.
