On July 3, Dennis Itumbi was arrested and detained at Muthaiga police station over links to allegations of assassinating Deputy President William Ruto.
According to reports, Itumbi and his friends stayed up late inside the restricted area at the station, sparking a night bash.
On July 6, Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo disclosed that his office would take disciplinary action against the officer in charge for possibly allowing the individuals in.
So far, Muthaiga Police Station OCS Alphonce Kemengua has been interdicted for allegedly failing to stop the communications officer in the office of the president from taking photos.
Itumbi's rumoured lover Jacque Maribe and two other unidentified men visited and took pictures with him, sparking controversy.
Itumbi told Milimani Law Courts that he had video of an alleged meeting attended by some government officials where a murder plot was discussed.
He said, 'The DCI is not interested in the truth. They want me to admit I wrote the letter. I can play the video in the presence of the court to prove the meeting but they are not interested in the truth.'
