On November 22nd, 2021, the Ministry of Health confirmed 18 new Covid-19 cases in Kenya, bringing the country's total caseload to 254,728.
According to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe, the new cases were detected from 3,982 samples tested, raising the total to 2,801,983. The country's positivity rate stands at 0.5 per cent.
Of the new cases, 13 are Kenyans, while five are foreigners, with eight being females and 10 being males. The youngest case is a 30-year-old, while the oldest is 83 years old.
Mr. Kagwe also confirmed that 21 patients had recovered from the disease, 16 from the home-based and isolation care programme and five from various health facilities. This has increased the total number of recoveries to 247,975.
No deaths were reported, and the countrywide Covid-19 death toll remains at 5,328.
There are 351 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 977 patients are under the home-based isolation and care programme.
Additionally, 20 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), nine of whom are on ventilator support and 11 on supplemental oxygen. No patient is under observation.
Another 112 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen, with 111 of them in general wards and one patient in a High Dependency Unit (HDU).
As of November 21st, 2021, a total of 6,398,580 vaccines had been administered across the country. Of these, 3,990,944 were partially vaccinated, while 2,407,636 were fully vaccinated.
