On November 20, 2021, the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) caretaker committee held a press conference at the Kenya National Library to address concerns over a six-month Sh875m budget attributed to them.
Head of the secretariat, Linda Oguttu, told the media that the team had not yet developed a work plan, making it impossible to discuss a budget at that stage.
"You cannot have a budget before you finish the work plan, the budget that you are seeing on social media being attributed to the committee is not ours," Oguttu said.
The committee also denied reports of a de-gazetted member, with Oguttu stating that the team was intact.
"As long as long as you have not seen the de-gazettement notice, treat that as rumours, I still have my full secretariat intact," she said.
The caretaker committee also announced that the football league would resume next week, when the suspension of football activities expires.
Committee member Ali Amour stated that the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) would be tasked with running the league.
"We will talk with KPL which is a league entity and hold a meeting with clubs to reach a consensus and agree on the smooth running of the league," Amour said.
