Published on November 19, 2021, the 84 km Kenol to Marua road dual carriage project is making significant progress, set to transform the face of Mt. Kenya region.
The road will provide users with at least 2 lanes on each side from the Capital Nairobi all the way to Marua, about 13 km from Nyeri town. It will link the current dual carriage that runs from Thika town to Kenol town, with Lot 1 of the project terminating in Sagana.
Lot 2 starts in Sagana and ends in Marua, with both lots being built simultaneously. The road project is expected to cost over KES 14 billion.
Initially set to be completed in 2023, CS Macharia announced that the road will now be completed in 2022.
A YouTuber, Afrikan Traveller, captured the progress of the project in a stunning drone video.
