On the eve of the inaugural Qatar Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton clarified his stance on Mercedes' request for a stewards' review of a contentious incident in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Speaking to reporters on Thursday, November 18, 2021, Hamilton emphasized that he had not been involved in the review process.

Hamilton, who secured a remarkable victory in the Brazilian Grand Prix to trim his Red Bull rival Max Verstappen's championship advantage to 14 points, stated that he was focused on the upcoming Qatar Grand Prix. He expressed his support for his team but emphasized that he was not giving any energy or time to the review discussion.

Hamilton's comments came as the Formula One community continued to debate the incident, which occurred on the 48th lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix. The Dutchman, Max Verstappen, defended his position vigorously, and both cars ran off the circuit and across a run-off area.

Despite the controversy surrounding the incident, Hamilton maintained that he had no complaints. He explained that he had focused on moving forward and not dwelling on the incident, citing the need to conserve his energy for the Qatar Grand Prix.

Verstappen, who was also questioned about the incident, remained bullish in his responses. He stated that he would take the same defensive actions again if faced with a similar situation, emphasizing that he had not spun off and had defended his position fairly.
