On November 18, 2021, a tragic incident occurred at a villa in Kwale County where a group of teachers, including Nelson Otsianda, a Buruburu secondary teacher, had gone for a vacation.

According to authorities, Otsianda's body was found in a pool at Buruburu Girls High School, and the post-mortem results indicated that he died by drowning.

However, the family of the deceased teacher disputes these findings, claiming that the report contradicts security camera footage retrieved from the villas.

The tutor's father, Claude Otsianda, expressed his desire for his son's friends to come forward and share their side of the story, saying, 'I wish his friends were here to give us their side of the story. We would like them to stand with us as they were with my son in his last moments.'
