Kenyan DJ VDJ Jones, popularly known for his hit songs 'Rieng' and 'Wale Mang'aa', has announced the cancellation of the Squidfest Festival at Maseno University. The event was initially scheduled for Friday, 19th 2021 at Hindocha Hall, Maseno University.

According to a statement issued by VDJ Jones to Litkenya.com, the festival has been rescheduled to allow for proper planning. Jones also revealed that his team will host different shows at different parts of the region on the same date.

"To my Maseno fans, we won't be coming to Maseno University. Ignore the posters going around," VDJ Jones stated.

Instead, the festival will be held in Bondo, Busia, and Mumias. This is the second major setback for Maseno University revelers, following the cancellation of the 'Freshers Night' event due to a lack of proper prior planning.

The Squidfest Festival was expected to feature new-age sensation artists, including Mbogi Genje, Jeshi Jinga, Ethic, Trio Mio, Arafat Mentor, DJ Chess, DJ Buddy, Peter Kusero, and MC Ben Jete.

VDJ Jones, who started his professional journey in 2015 after clearing university, is a person of hope who believes that hard work is the key to every door. He aims to become one of the best DJs in Africa and a globally recognized DJ.
