On November 18, 2021, Kenya Motor Sports Federation (KMSF) President Phineas Kimathi announced the appointment of three new members to the KMSF Appeals Board.

The new members include Safari Rally legends Glen Edmunds and George Mwangi, as well as Commercial and Sports lawyer James Gichuru.

According to Kimathi, the appointment is in accordance with Article 15.1.1-15.3.2 of the FIA International Sporting Code.

The Appeals Board will be tasked with dealing with pending disputes and guiding the Rallies Commission on the best way to resolve such disputes.

Edmunds, a former rally driver and international team manager, brings a wealth of rallying experience to the board, having served as a local coordinator for various teams in the WRC Safari Rally.

Gichuru is expected to inject the much-needed legal framework to the board.

Kimathi expressed his confidence in the new members, saying, "I wish the three the best and urge them to exercise the delegated authority in a just and fair way."
