On a weekend that will be remembered for a long time, Betty N Maina, a 30-year-old Board Member at Athi Water Works, made her parents' dreams come true by building them a multi-million modern mansion in their village in Murang'a County.
According to Betty, it has taken a lot of sacrifices to put up the house, but she prioritized her parents' needs over her own desires. 'I had an option of buying a car or a plot, but I gave them the priority,' she said.
The house warming party was attended by high-profile individuals, including former presidential candidate Peter Kenneth, Water Principal Secretary Joseph Wairagu, Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti, Murang'a Woman Rep Sabina Wanjiru Chege, and Gender CAS Beatrice Elachi.
Guests arrived in choppers and big cars, and the party was filled with music and laughter. Speakers showered Betty with praises, saying she will remain blessed all her life.
‘What you have done is a big honour to your parents. God has seen and He will always bless you, my daughter,’ Wavinya said.
Senator Ngugi added: ‘Congratulations on building such a beautiful house for your parents. You are forever blessed. You have set a new standard.’
