CS Amina Holds Consultative Talks with Fifa Sec Gen Fatma Samoura

On October 27, 2021, Cabinet Secretary for Sports Ambassador Amina Mohamed met with Fifa Secretary General Fatma Samoura in a virtual meeting to discuss the Kenyan football situation.

Ambassador Amina described the meeting as an 'Excellent consultative meeting between the Kenyan Government and Fifa Secretary General Fatma Samoura.'

She emphasized that all Government of Kenya decisions on football management remain in place and intact, with the next meeting scheduled to take place in a week.

Meanwhile, ousted Football Kenya Federation (FKF) boss Nick Mwendwa appeared in court on November 17, 2021, after being arrested on November 12, 2021, on allegations of fraudulent acquisition of public property.

Prosecution counsel Everline Onunga had requested the court to detain Mwendwa for 14 days to allow them to conclude investigations into the suspected fraudulent acquisition of public property.

According to the prosecution, Mwendwa is being investigated for allegedly transferring Sh8.5 million from FKF's account to his personal accounts and authorising the fictitious withdrawal of Sh29.5 million from the federation's account.
