On November 17, 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture launched the Enable Programme, offering funding and training to unemployed graduates with Diploma and Degree certificates.
The programme, funded by the Government of Kenya and the African Development Bank, aims to support young agribusiness entrepreneurs in Kenya.
According to the Ministry, the Enable Programme will provide training, mentoring, and coaching to successful candidates, with the goal of nurturing and financing their agribusiness ideas.
The programme will be implemented in eight Youth Agri-Business Incubation Centres (YABICs) across the country, with a focus on agripreneurship graduates who own and run their own ventures.
Applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria, including being a Kenya Citizen with a National ID, aged between 18-35 years, and holding a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution.
Those who qualify will receive funding and training to progress their agribusinesses, with the opportunity to establish a viable agribusiness idea and own and run a successful venture.
