On November 17, 2021, the Government of Kenya unveiled plans to offer a third economic stimulus package worth KSh26.2 billion, aimed at supporting the recovery of key sectors impacted by the global COVID-19 pandemic.
The new stimulus package brings the total allocated to over KSh79.9 billion, following the initial KSh53.7 billion spent in the first stimulus programme launched in March 2020.

According to Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani, KSh1 billion will be allocated to support small-scale tea farmers with fertilizer subsidies, while another KSh1.5 billion will be set aside to safeguard the livelihoods of farmers in the sugar belt.
The government will also allocate KSh1 billion to the Ministry of Agriculture for coffee sector reforms and KSh8 billion to the Ministry of Education for the CBC infrastructure expansion programme.
Additionally, KSh10 billion will be allocated for the third phase of the Kazi Mtaani programme, prioritizing densely populated areas.
