On Friday night, a tragic accident took the life of Karanja Kabage, a respected lawyer and businessman, in Karen, Nairobi.
According to his close friends and family, Kabage was pronounced dead on arrival at the Nairobi Hospital after his car lost control.
President Uhuru Kenyatta, who was on an official trip in Tanzania at the time, has expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the deceased, describing him as a 'resourceful person' in the insurance sector.
Kabage, a prominent insurance expert, had served as a director at African Reinsurance Corporation and First Reinsurance Brokers Limited.
President Kenyatta said, 'It is painful to lose a great friend at a time like this. I pray that God will give the family, friends and relatives comfort and fortitude at this trying moment.'
He further added, 'Indeed Karanja Kabage was a resourceful person. Kenya has lost a resourceful person who was always willing and ready to offer legal aid to those who sought his help.'
At 70, Kabage was a regular panellist on NTV's AM Live show and had vied for the Nakuru senatorial seat in the 2017 General Election.
