On November 15, 2021, a dramatic scene unfolded in Kondele, Kisumu, as a motorcade carrying Deputy President William Ruto came under attack from a mob.
According to eyewitness accounts, the mob, led by a suspect identified as Wilson Aminda, a Kisumu county law enforcement officer, stoned the motorcade, causing chaos and destruction.
Photos of the incident, which went viral on social media, showed Aminda among a crowd of unidentified youth, carrying stones.
On Monday, November 15, 2021, DCI officers arrested Aminda and detained him at the Kondele police station.
He is expected to appear in court later on Tuesday to face charges of malicious damage of property and incitement to violence.
