Dennis Oliech Misses Out on Gor Mahia's Cecafa Squad ¶
Published on July 6, 2019, Gor Mahia has released their Cecafa Kagame Cup squad, with Dennis Oliech missing out due to an injury he sustained in May.
The all-time Kenyan record goal scorer picked up an arm injury during a Kenyan Premier League match against Western Stima in Kisumu on May 6. The injury was expected to last for at least three weeks, but Gor Mahia are yet to give any update on his recovery.
Other big names missing from the 21-man squad are the Uganda duo of Hashim Sempala and Erisa Ssekisambu. Newly signed goalkeeper David Mapigano, who joined from Singida United on a three-year deal, made the team alongside Boniface Oluoch.
Gor Mahia are in Group D alongside DC Motema Pembe of DRC, KMKM from Zanzibar, and AS Ports of Djibouti. The Cecafa Kagame Cup is set to kick off this weekend in Rwanda.
