On November 12, 2021, Samsung Electronics launched a partnership with the Government of Rwanda to support the Rwanda Coding Academy.

The partnership aims to equip students with the latest knowledge in coding and software development. Samsung will provide a 30-seater innovation lab with cutting-edge technology, including 24-inch computer monitors, keyboards, mice, routers, an interactive e-board, and state-of-the-art air-conditioning.

During the launch event, Mr. Shivanda, Head of Corporate Affairs at Samsung Electronics, expressed the company's enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, 'At Samsung, we are really excited about this project because the potential is immeasurable, the impact on the community and the leaders of tomorrow is astonishing. It is a project that we are proud to be associated with and is the beginning of many many years of partnership.'

The partnership supports Rwanda's Education Sector Strategic Plan 2018 – 2024, which focuses on increasing the use of ICT in TVET programs to enhance employability and provide a skilled workforce for the economy.

Minister of State, ICT, Ms. Claudette Irere, praised the partnership, saying, 'We cannot build this country alone, we can only do it through strategic partnerships with socially responsible corporates like Samsung. The Rwanda Coding Academy was developed with the intention of equipping our students with skills that will propel them towards success in the future and with the support that we have received from Samsung today, we are definitely a step ahead.'
