Deputy President William Ruto's Karen residence has been a hub of activity in recent months, with the politician hosting various individuals as he gears up for the 2022 General Elections.

However, Ruto's activities have become a source of frustration for his neighbours, who have taken to complaining about the security, noise, and traffic gridlock caused by his residence.

According to a letter written by the Karen Residents Association on November 9, 2021, residents have expressed concerns over the presence of 'aliens' masquerading as visitors to Ruto's residence, who have been mugging locals.

The association's chairperson, James Hirst, stated in the letter that residents have complained of rising cases of mugging along the route, conducted by individuals posing as visitors to Ruto's residence.

Hirst also highlighted the issue of traffic gridlock caused by visitors parking on the roadside and waiting for clearance to enter Ruto's residence, which has resulted in unbearable inconvenience to residents commuting along the Karen road.

The association has requested the Inspector General of Police, Hillary Mutyambai, to look into the matter and restore peace and tranquility in the neighbourhood.
