As the 2022 general elections heat up, the contest between DP William Ruto and Raila Odinga is shaping up to be a closely contested two-horse race.

With the two big wigs vying for the top seat, the question on everyone's mind is who will be the next first lady: Rachel Ruto or Ida Odinga?

Ida Odinga, in an exclusive interview with the Daily Nation on November 11, 2021, revealed that there is no bad blood between her and Rachel Ruto, but rather a potential rift due to their husbands' political differences.

According to Ida, DP Ruto's reluctance to allow his wife to meet her could be a contributing factor to the rift, as he may not be comfortable with the two women interacting.

Ida emphasized that Raila and Ruto are not sworn enemies, but rather individuals with different political ideologies.

When asked about her husband's chances in the upcoming elections, Ida expressed her confidence in Raila's ability to lead the country, citing his dedication to the nation's affairs.
