Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria Woos Raila Odinga for 2022 Presidential Bid ¶
On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria made a bold move by offering former Prime Minister Raila Odinga a running mate position in the 2022 presidential election.
Speaking to the press, Wa Iria stated that he has the numbers from the Mount Kenya region, and if they combine that with the votes from Raila's backyard, they will be unstoppable.
"I am looking for a running mate in the 2022 Presidential race and I am requesting Raila Odinga to take that offer," Wa Iria said.
He added that he has received information that Raila will be in Gatura tomorrow and wants him to announce that he has taken the offer.
Wa Iria hilariously stated that since he is the only one who has the tyranny of numbers, all the other aspirants should shelve their presidential ambitions and agree on one person to deputize him.
"I want to ask all the presidential aspirants in the country to hold a meeting and decide who amongst them will be my running mate," Wa Iria said.
He remarked that the position of a running mate is usually reserved to those with few numbers, but he has the highest and the others follow by far.
