On November 10, 2021, a tense situation unfolded in Kondele, Kenya, as Deputy President William Ruto's convoy was stoned by a rowdy crowd. The incident has sparked a heated debate, with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga placing the blame on Ruto's shoulders.

Speaking to Mbaitu FM on Thursday morning, Odinga stated that Ruto's remarks during a roadside rally had provoked the youth, leading to the chaos. He emphasized that if one's words can evoke anger in a crowd, it is only natural for some individuals to react in unsavory ways.

However, Ruto has a different perspective on the matter. In brief comments, he condemned political leaders who incite youths, stating that it was time to liberate Kondele from the culture of hostility. He also emphasized that everyone is free to visit any part of the country.

Despite the differing opinions, several leaders have condemned the chaos, including Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and KANU's Gideon Moi, who have called for investigations and prosecutions of the culprits.
