On November 11, 2021, Standard Chartered Bank Kenya announced a three-year partnership with Kenya Forest Services to support the restoration and conservation of the Nairobi Arboretum Park.

The bank has committed to creating a digital app in partnership with Strathmore University to educate Kenyans on conservancy, climate change, and promote the park.

Through the partnership, the bank has also vowed to restore not less than nine-kilometer of paths for running or walking and overall experience of enjoying the park.

Standard Chartered Bank Kenya aims to promote urban green awareness and urban greenification by supporting 1 million seedlings in the Arboretum Nursery, making them available to staff, clients, and the community at large.

Speaking during the announcement, Standard Chartered CEO, Kariuki Ngari emphasized the bank's commitment to accelerating to net zero through partnerships, creating awareness for staff, communities, and engaging like-minded stakeholders in the fight to mitigate the impact of climate change.
