On November 10, 2021, Jambojet made a significant move in the aviation industry by introducing in-flight entertainment (IFE) services for its passengers. This innovative service is a result of a partnership with Global Onboard Partners, enabling passengers to access content through their mobile and electronic devices via a wireless network available within the aircraft.
According to Karanja Ndegwa, Managing Director and CEO of Jambojet, the in-flight entertainment system will feature Jambojet Destination Explorer, along with videos, games, and reading material to keep passengers entertained, informed, and engaged during the flight. The system is designed to provide a unique experience for passengers, with an average flight duration of one hour.
The in-flight entertainment service also presents an opportunity for corporates and other potential advertisers to promote their goods and services on the platform through video or static image placement, as highlighted by the CEO.
Jambojet currently operates flights to seven local destinations, including Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu, Malindi, Lamu, and Ukunda (Diani), from its hub in Nairobi. The airline also flies to Goma, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
With the introduction of Jambojet Destination Explorer, passengers can make the most out of their travel experience and discover the best of each incredible destination in Jambojet's network. The platform offers exclusive offers, rewards, and dynamic maps to help passengers find the best places to stay, food to eat, and attractions to visit.
Global Onboard Partners CEO Kirk Adams welcomed Jambojet as their latest airline partner, highlighting the airline's innovative and digitally focused approach. Adams emphasized the benefits of the partnership, stating that it provides a win-win for everyone involved, through the delivery of destination experiences and special offers to passengers, new revenue streams to airlines, and greater access to tourism and hospitality partners.
