On Friday night, July 5, 2019, Senegal secured a 1-0 victory over Uganda in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 match at Cairo International Stadium.
The match was a closely contested one, with Uganda's defender Hassan Wasswa leaving the field injured after just 18 minutes.
Despite having played one game short, Sadio Mane became the AFCON top scorer with three goals, including the winning goal against Uganda.
Mane's clinical finish, which went flying beyond goalkeeper Dennis Onyango, sealed the win for Senegal.
Uganda had numerous chances to equalize but failed to bury their chances in front of goal.
Senegal will now face Benin in the quarterfinals on Wednesday, July 10, at the 30 June Stadium.
