On November 4, 2021, a significant change took place in Nairobi's infrastructure. Mbagathi Road, a major thoroughfare, was officially renamed Raila Odinga Way.
The decision was made by the MCAs, who passed a motion to rename the road in honour of the Orange Democratic Movement boss.
Minority Whip Peter Imwatok introduced the motion, stating that deserving leaders should be recognised while they are alive, not when they die.
As a result, a new signpost was erected, featuring two sides: one indicating Langata Road and the other, Raila Odinga Way, which directs to Mbagathi Way.
