On November 5, 2021, the Judicial Service Commission announced that it would re-open the application window for vacancies advertised in October, which had closed on October 29, 2021.
The Commission cited challenges faced by applicants in the online portal, which may have locked out potential candidates due to high traffic and congestion in the system.
According to the JSC, more than 60,000 applications had been received for the advertised positions by the close of the original application window.
However, the Commission noted that some potential candidates may not have been able to access the application portal, and therefore decided to extend the application window to give every Kenyan a fair opportunity to be considered for these positions.
The application window will now re-open on November 8, 2021, and will close on November 12, 2021, at 5 p.m.
Applicants who had submitted their applications before the original deadline should not re-apply, the JSC emphasized.
The Judicial Service Commission had invited applications for various positions, including Senior Public Affairs & Corporate Communications Officer, Senior Law Clerks, Court Assistants, Drivers, and other technical positions.
The recruitment process will be undertaken in accordance with the principles and processes in the Constitution and the Judicial Service Act.
