Kenya's Covid-19 death toll has risen to 5,296 after 14 more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health announced on November 4th, 2021.
Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe reported 149 new infections from 5,500 samples, raising the country's caseload to 253,661. The new cases bring the total number of samples tested so far to 2,724,372.
Of the new cases, 148 are Kenyans, while one is a foreigner. The youngest case is a seven-year-old baby, while the oldest is 98 years old.
131 patients have recovered from the disease, with 103 from the home-based isolation and care programme, and 28 from various health facilities countrywide. The total number of recoveries now stands at 247,156.
There are 426 patients admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 1,151 are under the home-based isolation and care programme. 32 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), with 18 on ventilatory support and 14 on supplemental oxygen.
The cases are spread across various counties, including Kitui, Nairobi, Nakuru, Trans Nzoia, and others.
