Published on November 3, 2021, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has been making headlines with his recent social media posts, which suggest he may be warming up to Deputy President William Ruto's camp.

Wambugu, a vocal critic of Ruto in the past, has been sharing an animated poster on social media, asking Kenyans for advice on who between Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga is the safer choice.

The poster features a yellow color, associated with Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA), fueling speculation about Wambugu's intentions.

Wambugu has been consulting his people before making his next move, stating, 'As you are all aware, I have been listening to the ground and speaking to it. I have also received your calls, messages, and advice. The most important thing I can say, I have learnt… and this is considering my team and I have been listening to our ground every week since 2015. The ground has changed! Compete ground shift.'

Wambugu's shift in stance has drawn comparisons to other politicians who have dumped the Jubilee Party, including Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and Laikipia Woman Rep Cate Waruguru.
