On November 3, 2021, Jumia unveiled its Black Friday edition, a campaign that promises to bring unbeatable deals to customers. The event, which will take place from November 5, will feature a first-come, first-served offer of five Friesian cows for a mere Ksh 100.
Speaking during the launch, Jumia Kenya Chief Executive Officer Sam Chappate revealed that the cows were part of their campaign to reach out to people living in both urban and rural areas and make them familiar with the app. He emphasized that the event is a big opportunity for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to make sales and gain exposure.
According to Chappate, this year's Black Friday will feature over a million deals and collaborations with various brands such as Equity Bank, Xiaomi, L'oreal (Garnier), Harpic, Johnnie Walker, Hisense, Adidas, and many more. Customers will also have opportunities to win trips and vouchers by downloading the app and being on the lookout for offers.
Additionally, customers can enjoy giveaways, flash sales, and free delivery from top brands. The Jumia Black Friday event has been instrumental in helping to digitize the economy, providing a reason for customers to log on, shop safely while social distancing, and save time and money.
