On Wednesday, 17 November 2021, defending champions Tusker FC secured their second win of the new campaign with a 2-1 victory over Kenya Police in a midweek rescheduled FKF Premier League match played at Kasarani.
The win marked a significant turnaround for the team, which had struggled to find its footing at the start of the season. Despite signing 10 new players, Tusker had suffered defeats to AFC Leopards and Talanta in their first two matches.
However, with a 2-0 victory over Wazito last Saturday, the team began to show signs of improvement. The win over Kenya Police further solidified their position, moving them to 10th in the log with six points and a game in hand.
The match saw Kenya Police take the lead in the opening minute after Clifton Miheso's corner delivery found Samuel Ndungu unmarked in the area. However, Tusker FC leveled the scores just four minutes later through Ibrahim Joshua's neat finish inside the box.
Shami Kibwana sealed the win for Tusker in the 40th minute with a penalty kick after Boniafe Muchiri was brought down in the opposition box.
The second half proved to be a fruitless affair for Kenya Police, who registered their fourth defeat of the season. The newbies have won only one game in the top-flight league and are currently placed 14th on the log ahead of their next game against Gor Mahia.
